Disney’s Robin Hood: 40th Anniversary Now Available on Blu-ray
Now that one of my all-time favorite Disney movies has been released on Blu-ray, my collection is almost complete! There are so many great movies from my childhood that I hope to share with my own children someday. In honor of this awesome release, I wanted to re-post a favorite song from this movie:
This version is sung by Mumford & Sons. It’s not available on any of their albums as they recorded it live as part of the BBC Sessions some time ago. The original track from the film was written and recorded by Roger Miller and each version is just as amazing as the other.
Lyrics for this video:
Not In Nottingham
Every town
Has its ups and downs
Sometimes the ups
Outnumber the downs
But not in NottinghamWell I’m inclined to believe
If we weren’t so down
We’d up and leave
We’d up and fly if we had wings for flyin’
Can you see these tears we’re cryin’?
And is there some happiness for me?
Not in Nottingham(whistle break)
Well I’m inclined to believe
If we weren’t so down
Oh darling, we’d up and leave
We’d up and fly if we had wings for flyin’
Can you see these tears we’re cryin’?
And is there some happiness for me?
Not in Nottingham
