Advertising Opportunities

Ledfrog.com is a fast-growing blog site created and maintained by me, Brandon Hann. At last count, my site receives over 11,000 actual users per month with over 25,000 pageviews. You can read all about how and why I started this site, but simply put, Ledfrog.com provides real content consisting of opinions, stories, news, reviews and more!

I currently limit the amount of advertising I use on my site because I want to keep content as the main focus rather than clouding it with tons of images, banners, links, etc. However, bringing in some kind of revenue is important to keep a site like this alive!

With that said, let’s explore how ads appear on Ledfrog.com. Or, contact me today for more information and pricing!

Homepage Ads

The very top of the homepage contains virtually no ads. This is done on purpose to keep visitors interested in the content and not feel like they’re obligated to click on something before they get to what they’re looking for. This is the breakdown of the the ad elements in place on the front page:

Ledfrog.com Homepage Ad Placement

  1. Google Ads – This area is reserved for Google Ads and can contain text and banner links to relavent websites based on the site content.
  2. Kontera Keywords – Kontera provides clickable keyword links on relavent keywords throughout the site. They are easily identifiable by the double underline style. Just like the Google ad location, Kontera links are random and will not be changed or removed.
  3. 125 X 125 Banners – This area is reserved for image banners only. This is also the only location on the homepage (currently) where you can purchase ad placement for your site. These banners are visible by every visitor that accesses the Ledfrog.com homepage. The top banner is visible as soon as the site loads, while banners below are seen when the page is scrolled down.

If you’re interested in purchasing ads that appear on the homepage, you must have a banner 125×125 pixels in size. These banners are placed on the far right and do not change locations. This area is limited in size, so pricing varies based on the amount current advertisers pay.

Inline Text Links

Even more limited on my site are inline text links. In specific situations, I allow site owners to purchase keywords on any page in my site (except the homepage) and have those keywords linked to a URL of their choice. I am very careful about which keywords and sites are allowed to purchase links and will not approve any that I feel don’t add value to Ledfrog.com and my visitors.

I’ll take quality over quantity any day. If you’re interested in inline text ad options, you may contact me directly and tell me what keyword(s) you would like to advertise with as well as what page and I will respond with accurate web statistics. From there, we can discuss pricing.

Here are some advantages of inline text ads over regular advertising:

  • Text ads appear within the content of a post or page
  • The links do not appear different than regular links
  • Visitors will see your links while reading
  • Increased exposure=increased click-through rates

Here’s an example of an inline text ad on a blog post:

Note that the link is not simply a direct link located randomly on the page. All inline links are required to flow naturally as part of the article’s text. I will work with you to make sure this requirement is met.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to text ads appearing as standard links, I do not allow any random link to be purchased. I strive to maintain the highest quality on my site and will continue this trend by only approving quality sites that add value to the information on my pages. I also will impose limits on per-page advertising in regards to the amount of links any one page may have. Pricing may increase should the demand of other advertisers increase.

Site-wide Ads

At this time, I do not offer any ads that appear site-wide, however I have the feature in place should that day come. Site-wide ads are exactly that…ads that will appear on every single page of the site. Currently, I find this approach to be similar to that of a “shotgun blast” in that you’d be displaying your specific ad to a generic crowd.

In this example, your ad would get a very large amount of views, but it may not yield high click-through results. Another reason I don’t offer them is because they may cannibalize other legitimate ads appearing on the same pages.
